Techfugees Australia Meetup – How the Global Refugee crisis has changed, what does that mean for Australia & how can you help?

About this event

Techfugees Australia is a group of passionate tech and startup folks who want to learn from refugee and migrant communities to see how technology might be able to solve some of the problems they face when they relocate to Australia.

We’ve held lots of meetups and hackathons over the years, and it’s great to be back where we first started – at Liverpool Library!

We invite you to join us on World Refugee Day to learn more about the current refugee crises around the world, to learn more about refugees and migrants here in Sydney and NSW- and of course learn more about how you might be able to get involved.

We’ve got an awesome agenda planned including some incredible guest speakers like:

– Ned Mannoun, Mayor Liverpool Council

– Dr Olga Oleinikova, Founder of Persollo, Senior Lecturer on Social and Political Sciences at UTS

– Dor Akech Achiek, Settlement Services International

– Nirary Dacho, Co-founder of Refugee Talent

Proudly hosted by two of the co-founders of Techfugees Australia, Annie Elias, CEO of Beckon Capital and Annie Parker, Angel Investor and Aussie Startup Ecosystem Leader.

After the speakers, we’ll then welcome some founders who will be pitching their startup ideas to the room, to gain feedback and advice from a panel of experts.

Please do come along, we’d love to see you there. We promise you’ll have a great time, learn a lot & make some incredible friends too.

See you in Liverpool 😉
