#TF4Women programmes – 2021: a year to scale!

Those following Techfugees since 2018 should already have heard about our #TF4Women Fellowship. In 3 years now, we’ve accelerated the professional inclusion of more than 40 refugee women in the French tech job market. After six months of training and mentorship sessions as well as French classes and networking activities, 70% of them are now in employment and on their way to real empowerment in host country 🚀

Thanks to this strong experience, a deep annual impact review as well as invaluable feedback from our alumni and volunteers, we’ve started to develop and scale in Europe!

In 2021, say ‘ciao’ Milan 🇮🇹, ‘Γεια σας’ Athens 🇬🇷 and ‘salut’ to our newborn #TF4Women programme in France: the Pathway!

The #TF4Women Pathway: a springboard to a new career!

Every year, the number of applications to join the cohort of the Fellowship programme in France grew up **a lot**. That’s why we decided to design a shorter programme to prepare around 50 asylum seekers and refugee women in France to their next professional step.

As a real springboard for the Fellowship – or another training programme – the Pathway allows participants to build their new professional project and the relevant toolkit to apply it (basic skills in using online professional tools, CV, cover letter, professional online profile, book…). They also get to better know the French labor market with an obvious focus on digital careers, thanks to weekly workshops along with inspiring experts on their fields.

Our very first cohort would make it by next July, right on time to jump in the next Fellowship programme in France starting next September.

📣 Be ready girls! Applications will be open next June 3rd!

Saluti alle donne di talento dell’Italia!

Italy here we are! Early May, 16 amazing women from all over Italy  jumped onboard to our pilot Fellowship programme drive from Milan by our untiring Matilde and Chiara 👋

General framework is the same in France and Italy: weekly mentorship or training sessions + individual support from a duo of professionals in web development, UX-UI design, cybersecurity, data science, digital marketing or project management + networking opportunities and events.

Same framework but unique implementation. Which is a strong guideline at Techfugees: always start from the local needs of people you want to serve and partner with those more experienced than you are on a new playground. Italian humanitarian and tech ecosystems swarm of mind-blowing and unselfish people and organisations we really love partnering with every day. Yes, we talk about you guys (SheTech, Talent Garden, Action Aid, Comune di Milano, Farsi Prossimo, TWC, Techedge, Diaconia Valdese..)!

All these efforts have been thought towards one goal: every fellow has to access at least one serious lead with a potential employer at the end of the 6-months programme 🤝

So please, join us to wish all the best to the amazing Andy, Annique, Bisma, Christina, Diana, Eren, Jocelyn Melissa, Najwa, Noura, Onome, Sara and Sozin!

Thanks to the support of our two strategic partners Cisco and L’Oreal, we will also start a pilot Fellowship programme in Greece next autumn, in order to support 500+ refugee women in Europe in the next 3 years. But that’s another episode we will tell you about later 📝

Wanna support our #TF4Women programmes in Europe?

We are **always** looking for financial and in-kind partners to fund the scholarships of the Fellows, provide IT equipment to all of them, welcome sessions and immersion day, volunteer your time and skills or recruit talented women in tech.
