Launch of Sistech – a new charitable organisation dedicated to scaling refugee women’s inclusion programme, originally conceived by Techfugees

Successful “Techfugees-4-Women” initiative is spinning out from Techfugees as part of the new Sistech organisation – former CEO Josephine Goube will lead the new entity

Conceived in 2018 in collaboration with Techfugees France, the Women Fellowship represents an innovative inclusion programme, co-designed by refugee women, offering access to educational, mentoring and practical knowledge, to accelerate professional inclusion of refugee women in the digital tech sector.

Led by Executive Director Josephine Goube, the initial pilot successfully grew into a fully fledged programme with the support of key partners that included L’Oreal, Cisco and many others to provide weekly mentoring, certified training and networking activities to empower inclusion of refugee women.

So far, 140 beneficiaries have participated in the programme that is now scaling across France, Italy and Greece with 70% of refugee women integrating fully into the digital tech workforce.

With the learnings gained from the Fellowship and Pathway programmes operated by Techfugees for Impact in the last four years, the launch of the new Sistech organisation on 1st February 2022 will be a new charitable organisation with independent brand operating outside of Techfugees core global activities, to support international expansion of the Women Fellowship programme and ambition to serve more than 500 refugee women by 2024.
