COVID-19 has worsened social and economic inequalities amongst refugees and displaced communities leaving them hardly hit by food insecurity, poor living and health conditions, poor quality education, technology access, limited access to hygiene and even loss of income. Technology has revolutionised the way we communicate, learn and live and has become an integral part of how we learn, work, access basic social services, etc. Investing in technologies and innovations is essential to solve numerous issues that displaced persons face for continual running of their local activities both educational and of economic nature
In June 2020, Techfugees Kenya in its chapter relaunch gathered experts to discuss how technology can disrupt existing inequalities among refugees in Kenya amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Please watch & listen here

During this August 2020 meetup, Techfugees Kenya has organised a second series to discuss further on this. Get to hear first hand from refugee & displaced persons.
Thank you for joining Techfugees Kenya in this August 2020 Meetup.
