Techfugees at No Lost Generation Summit in Amman, Jordan

Techfugees will be taking part in the NLG (No Lost Generation) summit in Amman, Jordan, on 21st and 22nd February, following the NLG EdTech summit in March 2017 and September’s NLG Silicon Valley Symposium.

The event will explore how tech can be used to solve key challenges related to education, employment,  participation and gender faced by young people displaced by the conflicts in Syria and Iraq as well as vulnerable young people living in the communities hosting them. At the summit tech companies, humanitarian experts, academic institutions, donors, investors and conflict-affected youth will work together to identify tech tools and innovative programs aligned with the challenges and initiate new partnerships.

Joséphine Goube (CEO), Min (Techfugees London) and Tom (OETIS project lead) will be participating in panels and workshops, advocating for the important role tech can play in mitigating the refugee situation, the opportunities around tech to create social inclusion and sharing the global experience Techfugees has built up over the last two and a half years from our work with local grassroots, tech companies and our partnership with Syria Relief, Requiem for Aleppo and the British Council to deliver online language training to Syrian teachers.

This event is sponsored by World Vision, NetHope and Microsoft.
