Techfugees Kenya
Online
On Friday July 30th, the Techfugees Kenya team is organizing an open live demo on Facebook with Renato Peixoto, Director of Development Partnership at Endless OS Foundation.
A month ago, the Chapter received a donation of 40 computers by Endless OS Foundation to be distributed through our network of local partners in Kakuma Refugee Camp. The Live demo will explain how to computers work and how to implement them onsite.
About Endless OS
Computing is one of the greatest revolutions in human history. Yet, it remains out of reach for half the planet. We created Endless OS – a free and robust computing solution – so people everywhere have access to relevant information and technology.
Our goal at the Endless OS Foundation is to build a global platform for digital literacy.
The Endless operating system allows users, regardless of their connectivity, to have a deep offline resource of learning and discovery resources available to them at all times, just one click away, right on the laptop. The Endless OS is specifically designed for digitally divided communities, supporting first-time computer users literacy with a simple-to-use OS interface based on mobile device user interfaces, as well as offering a complete pack of hundreds of preloaded free apps available in the App Center that also support students productivity, creativity, leaning process, entertainment. Having internet access, students will be able to use the computer normally and Endless OS offers even more security as it is virus resistant due to its closed environment and App Installation process – Learn about Endless OS
